This was purchased as a gift for someone who always comments about my ice spheres. I hope he likes them as much as I do mine.

I had my doubts that I would get a really clear sphere of ice without any bubbles or cloudiness. So, when I actually made my first batch of spheres, I had the biggest smile on my face. True enough, it was clear throughout. Very impressed and excited to show these off. I just used filtered cold water from the fridge and followed the directions I saw online. I didn’t leave it in the full 24 hours, though. More like 21 hours, but it was still perfect.

I was skeptical of this device, but now that I have one, I'm ecstatic! Getting that crystal clear ball to come out is very impressive. Follow the directions and you'll get perfectly clear spheres. We have a friend who has had one for years at his cabin, it stays in the freezer all the time and goes weeks without being touched. I don't recommend letting that happen. It was very difficult to get the mold out because he let it go way more than 30 hours. As per the instructions I did mine for between 24-30 hours and it came out easily and perfect. I filled it right back up and am going to try to set a routine of making them nightly. Fits nicely in the door of our stand up freezer in the garage. Highly recommend it!

I bought one of these. I had been making my own ice, and chopping it up. That is a lot of work. This make clear spheres. What I like about it -- is that if you leave it in the freezer too long -- you can still get the mold out. Other models require you to run hot water over the mold to free it from the excess water container. Not needed here.
